Brand identity and custom website for Medina & Co. Patisserie, a custom cake and pastry studio specializing in elevated desserts, celebration cakes, and small-batch baked goods.

Starting with no existing brand system or website, the project combined visual identity, custom frontend development, AI-assisted photo enhancement, custom content creation, and content direction to create a cohesive digital presence that feels warm, editorial, and distinctly premium.

Context

Medina & Co. Patisserie began with a clear aesthetic vision but no established brand identity or digital presence.

The goal was to create a website that felt less like a traditional bakery website and more like a modern editorial brand experience. The visual direction needed to communicate craftsmanship, warmth, and attention to detail while elevating the perception of the business beyond social media alone.

Most bakery websites rely heavily on template layouts and inconsistent photography. This project approached the challenge differently by establishing a complete visual system before development began.

The process started with collaborative mood boarding and visual exploration, defining a shared aesthetic language that would guide every design decision that followed.

Brand Identity

The identity system was developed from the visual themes established during the discovery process.

Soft neutrals, warm creams, muted greens, and refined typography created a visual language inspired by boutique patisseries, editorial food photography, and modern hospitality brands.

The logo system was designed to feel elegant and handcrafted without becoming overly decorative, balancing approachability with a premium presentation.

Every element of the identity was created to support future packaging, menus, social content, and physical brand applications beyond the website itself.

Logo variants were developed for light and dark applications, ensuring the mark remained legible across packaging, signage, and digital touchpoints.

The resulting brand feels cohesive, recognizable, and flexible enough to scale as the business continues to grow.

Brand applications extended into physical environments, with the identity system applied to storefront presentation and future touchpoints.

Custom Visual Production

One of the biggest challenges of the project was visual content.

Like many small businesses, Medina & Co. had excellent products but limited access to professional brand photography.

Rather than relying on generic stock imagery, a custom visual library was created specifically for the website.

This included:

  • AI-generated editorial bakery photography
  • Custom ingredient imagery
  • Product-focused visual concepts
  • Hero video production
  • Photo enhancement and transformation workflows

Every image was art directed to match the established visual language of the brand.

The homepage hero features a custom-produced video sequence composed of multiple generated scenes, creating an elevated introduction that immediately establishes the tone of the brand.

This approach allowed the website to achieve the visual quality of a professional bakery campaign without requiring a traditional commercial photo shoot.

Photo Transformation Process

The project also included a custom image enhancement workflow developed specifically for small businesses with limited photography assets.

Original images from the client’s Instagram were transformed into website-quality visuals while preserving the authenticity of the products themselves.

Rather than replacing the client’s work, the process elevated existing content through composition improvements, lighting refinement, texture enhancement, and visual consistency.

This created a bridge between real products and premium presentation while allowing the website to maintain authenticity.

Website Experience

The website was designed and developed to feel calm, inviting, and visually immersive.

Large imagery, generous spacing, and subtle motion create an experience that mirrors the feeling of walking into a boutique bakery rather than browsing a traditional service website.

The homepage balances storytelling and product presentation, allowing visitors to quickly understand the brand while exploring custom cakes, pastries, and ordering information.

The frontend was developed with a mobile-first approach, ensuring imagery, typography, and layout maintained their impact across phones, tablets, and desktop devices.

Desktop and mobile experiences were refined independently to ensure the visual rhythm remained consistent at every screen size.

Detail & Polish

Small details were treated with the same level of care as the larger visual moments.

This included:

  • Responsive image systems
  • Custom hover interactions
  • Smooth scroll pacing
  • Mobile-first spacing adjustments
  • Visual hierarchy refinements
  • Consistent asset treatment across the entire experience

Every interaction was designed to support the feeling established by the brand identity rather than compete with it.

Outcome

The final website established Medina & Co.’s first complete digital presence.

What began as a Pinterest board and a collection of social media photos became a cohesive brand system, custom website, visual library, and content experience.

More importantly, the project demonstrates how modern visual production workflows can help small businesses achieve premium brand presentation without the cost and complexity of traditional commercial photography.

The result is a digital experience that feels warm, editorial, and memorable while providing a scalable foundation for future growth.
